Dr. Pepper Baby Back Ribs

Savor flavorful, soft baby back ribs with a tart and sweet Dr. Pepper glaze. These ribs are a hit at any barbecue because of the distinctive twist this recipe gives to the traditional smoked ribs.

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks baby back ribs
  • 1 can 12 oz Dr
  • Pepper
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup mustard for brushing

Instructions:

Preheat your smoker to 225F 107C

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs

In a bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create the rub

Place the rubbed ribs in the smoker and smoke for 3 hours

In a saucepan, combine Dr

Pepper and remaining rub

Simmer for 15-20 minutes to create a glaze

Brush the ribs with mustard and then glaze with the Dr

Pepper mixture

Continue smoking for an additional 1-2 hours or until the ribs reach your desired tenderness

Remove the ribs from the smoker, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve
